Who Are We?
D. Washinton, Chef
Since 2014, D'jour has proudly served Austin and the surrounding areas, bringing the restaurant experience directly into people's homes through interactive and memorable dining events. Founded by Chef Damien Washington—known to many as Chef D—D'jour was born from his passion for creating fun, welcoming, and elevated culinary experiences.
A true Austin native, Chef D grew up surrounded by the values of family, food, and football—three things that continue to bring him joy today. His love for family inspires everything he does, especially his passion for cooking. Raised to appreciate the power of gathering around a meal, Chef D still participates in weekly Sunday family dinners at his grandmother’s house. It was his grandmother who first taught him to cook, sparking a lifelong love for the kitchen and paving the way for his future career.
Chef D is a proud graduate of Le Cordon Bleu and credits his time there—notably meeting Chef Eric James of Culinary Misfit—as a pivotal moment in shaping his path toward becoming a personal chef. It was during this time that the idea for D'jour was born: a place where restaurant-quality meals meet the warmth and comfort of home.
